Katea was a female Claymore, and the number 32 of Clare's generation. She was asigned to the Mount Zakol Hunt, led by number 9 Jean, where she was eventually ambushed, along with the rest of the team, by Abyssal One Riful of the West, and her partner, former number 3 Dauf. After a long session of torture, Katea finally Awakened. However, after being defined by Dauf as weak, Riful orders her death, as she wasn't useful for her army.
Etymology[]
"Katea" is a transliteration of the Japanese "Katea" (カティア, pronounced "ka-te-a").
"Katea" may be a variant on "Katya," a diminutive of "Yekaterina," Russian for "Catherine."
Personality[]
Katea appeared to have been strong-willed, having resisted extensive torture from Riful and Dauf even when one of her comrades had already died in front of her.
Appearance[]
Katea had long, straight, pale hair worn in a typical hime(princess) style. She had silver eyes and wore the standard warrior uniform.
As an Awakened Being, she appeared as a humanoid with black and glowing white body segments and spines on her back that could be extended to attack. She retained a feminine face, possibly the face she possessed as a claymore.
Abilities[]
As the Organization's number 32, Katea was described as not very powerful by Abyssal One Riful of the West. This made her a somewhat weak Awakened Being. However, she still had the power to penetrate Dauf's tough skin.

Katea, along with the Zakol Moutains Hunting Party, arriving their destination.
A member of the Mount Zakol Awakened Being Hunting Party, led by Jean. From her room at a Hanel inn, Clare sees them leaving for Mount Zakol.[2] At Mount Zakol, the hunting party enters an abandoned castle, the Witch's Maw.[3]
Dauf about killing Katea
They are taken prisoner by Riful of the West, and her consort, Dauf. Raquel escapes back to Hanel, where she informs Clare before dying.[3]
Back in Riful's torture chamber, the three remaining party members undergo extreme torture by Dauf. Riful is trying to create an army of Awakened Beings to fight Isley of the North.[3]
Riful admits killing thirty Claymores before the present hunting party, failing to get even one Awakened success. The fourth unnamed Claymore has died, and Katea succumbs and Awakens, despite Jean's pleads. Once Awakened, Katea attacks Dauf, but Riful is only testing Katea. Dauf reports to Riful that Katea is too weak, so Riful orders Katea destroyed, and with his bare hands, the former No. 3 ends Katea's life.[3]
