Claudia was Claymore No. 36 of Clare's generation.
Etymology[]
"Claudia" is a transliteration of the Japanese "Kuraudeia" (クラウディア, pronounced "kur-au-dei-a").
"Claudia" derives from Latin "claudus" meaning "lame." This could allude to "Claudia" being feeble and getting in Undine's way of her attack when she was hit by the Armadillo Awakened Being.
"Claudia" is the name of several Roman princesses.
Appearance[]
Claudia seems to have her hair slicked back that falls about mid-section length, similar to Raftela's.
Plot[]
In the Northern War, she was assigned to Undine's team alongside Deneve, Zelda, and Juliana. She arrived with the rest of her team as backup to help Flora's team against the Yoki manipulating Awakened Being. She was hit by one of its tentacles when the group attacks and ordered to fall back by Undine. She seemed annoyed by being told was only getting in the way but obeyed her captain's orders. T
he Awakened Being was later killed by a combination of Flora and Clare.
Claudia is seen again during the second skirmish, attacking an Awakened Being with Deneve and Juliana. She is last seen just after Rigardo killed Flora. She is shaking uncontrollably, which causes her to drop her sword. She is later killed by another Awakened Being in Isley's army.
Behind the Scenes[]
- In the English anime dub, Undine mistakingly refers to Claudia as "Juliana", who was another member of Undine's team.
